Review - SR100, the high-end model of SANCTUS SATA

I found about the high-end power cable long time ago, and after the consuming debate with my people, I tried to demonstrate it to listen to the sound directly.

The first feeling was that the sound was surely changed but I was not assured if it’s a good sound.

That was completely different from the existing sound. Some parts seemed to be good, but in matching with appliance, other parts were changed excessively so I thought it would not be changed better. So to cover the weak points of system, I searched for the proper cable changing specifications from the cheap thing to the expensive thing and I also met the various people with a good skill.

Due to the various types and characteristics, there was a cable to be pulled out immediately as soon as I plugged it into the appliance. And on the other hand, a cable was very good to me so I listened to the music for a few hours. But the next day, I was shocked to find the sound was changed. After that, I found out that the sound is changed due to aging.

It has been five years since I met Hi-fi cable. So I thought all the setting is finished including audio line, digital line, power cable, USB and 1394. But the last one that I have not experienced was the SATA!

In fact, treating SATA was a little bit troublesome to me and I also thought it would not make a big difference. So I just have thought that I want to use it someday. Meanwhile, I read the notification of SANCTUS that they provide the SATA cable for demonstration for free and I called to SANCTUS to use SR100.

 

In my computer, there are OS SSD 128GB, SATA HDD 2TB.

I listened to the sound connecting Sanctus SR100 only to OS SSD.

Firstly, I could feel the instruments and the sources more closely.

The scale of source became bigger and the sound was clearer. When I changed it with bundle cable, the sound became far, thin and dull.

  

I also connected SANCTUS SR100 with DATA HDD.

Differently from the connecting it only with OS SSD, the sound was more luxurious.

When it was connected with OS, the difference between the pop song mastered well and the K-pop mastered bad was obvious so I couldn’t listen to the K-pop anymore. But after connecting it with OS and DATA HDD, the bad parts were covered with luxurious feeling so I could somehow listen to it. I don’t mean that there is no difference but I could pass the bad parts anyway.

The feeling after replacing OS and DATA HDD with Sanctus SR100 cable :

It is clean and luxurious. It has the high resolution and the height and width of image becomes wide. The height is wider than the width. The range of high part becomes clear and opening but it is not annoying. It seems to have power with clarity, the drum’s ride cymbal and the beating of rim shot become stronger.

The most impressive part is the low notes.

The sound of base and kick drum becomes transparent and deep. Due to the increase of beating feelings, it could be possible to play the transparent and powerful low notes of Nora Jones’ records.
The balance of each instrument and voice seems to be different, but because of the dynamic power of instrument rather than voice, the music sounds more vivid in general. Meanwhile, the voice becomes rather calm. 
Compared with bundle cables, the presence of each source is added and the scale becomes big. Without masking mutually, they becomes well each other.

When I listened to the existing records, the scale of each source seemed to be bigger than it used to be. But when it is printed, it is divided well compared with bundle and the sense of space becomes better.

It is very strange and unfortunate that the difference between bundle and SR100 is reduced when it is printed in comparison to the case of listening directly.

When I heard it directly, the difference was obvious so I became bad when I connected bundle instead of SR100. But in case of printing, there is not so big difference.
